Seattle Mommy Makeover If Still Having Babies

Mommy Makeover Options If Still Having Babies – Tummy Tuck, Breast Augmentation, Liposuction

Dr. Haeck discusses options for a mommy makeover if you may still have more children in the future.

The question I get asked all the time is “Can I have a mommy makeover and then get pregnant?” The answer is probably not.

I don’t think you should do a mommy makeover until you’re absolutely sure that you’re done having babies. Another pregnancy after a tummy tuck will mean your muscles are stretched, you may get more stretch marks, and your skin may not retract back to the way it looked after a tummy tuck.

So, it’s always important to decide if you’re done having babies, are you done building the family, am I then a candidate for a mommy makeover? Yes, you are.

Sometimes a woman will ask, “What happens if I get pregnant after a tummy tuck?” If she still wants to have another baby, we might work on her tummy in subtle ways with liposuction or may be a mini-tummy tuck and leave the muscles out of it. We might work on a breast augmentation because she can still breast feed afterwards. But most of my tummy tuck/mommy makeover patients are done making babies, having families and that’s the key right there.

When we’re talking about mommy makeovers with a woman and her spouse or significant other, I always turn to that person and say you know, there’s two budgets here. There’s a budget for the surgery and then there’s a budget for the clothing afterwards. Be prepared. You’re going to have a woman who feels much better about her body and she’s going to want to go shopping afterwards.
